The Oldtimer Stara Gora Association, which has its headquarters at Bolehnečice 11, is recognized locally and nationally as one of the most active guardians of technical, agricultural and cultural heritage. Their museum, described in the document as "a real treasure trove of history, which today counts more than 8,000 carefully preserved and documented exhibits", represents one of the richest technical-ethnological collections in Slovenia.

The procession as an outdoor museum exhibition

The procession was not just a transport of vehicles through the place, it was a tribute to the past and a celebration of identity. Each vehicle carried its own story, its own year, its own sound and its own character. Together, they created a mosaic that only a community that understands the importance of heritage can offer.

Along the route, the audience followed vehicles that marked decades of mobility - from post-war motorcycles, through Tomos, which shaped the youth of many generations, to prestigious limousines, sports coupes and work machines, which once drove the development of the countryside.

The procession was led by the president of the association

The president of the association was driving at the head of the convoy Alexander Vuk, who in his Tomos APN 4 (1981) symbolically connected tradition, youth and responsibility towards heritage. His moped, authentically preserved and technically flawless, was the introduction to the rich variety of vehicles that followed.

They lined up behind him:

Tomos of different generations - from Colibri (1960) to sports models 4S and Sprint,

classic Mercedes – from the working 206 D to the prestigious S-Class and the elegant SL Cabrio,

FORD Capri,

BMWs – from the cult model of 2002 to the R25 motorcycle from 1953,

French icons – Renault 11, Renault 11 GTL and the legendary Citroën 2CV,

rarities – NSU Prinz (1968), Kovrovec Moskva 125 (1946), Csepel 125 (1954),

tractor Steyr T86 (1954) – proof that technical heritage is not only mobility, but also work, land and history.

Outstanding specimens such as Jeep Willys (1945),

Tomos Colibri (1960), BMW 2002 (1973) and Ford Capri (1973), have attracted the most attention, as they represent turning points in the history of motoring and motorcycling.

Great atmosphere and professional presentation

Announcer Breda Žunič presented the vehicles, and each participant was presented with the name, model and year of the vehicle, which gave the procession professional weight and museum value. The audience welcomed the event with enthusiasm, as many visitors took photos, filmed and stopped next to vehicles that are rarely seen today.

The procession of the Oldtimer Association Stara Gora 2026 was more than just an event. It was a celebration of tradition, a tribute to the past and an inspiration for the future. Almost 40 vehicles, presented in perfect driving condition, are proof of dedication, expertise and love of technical heritage. With its participation, the association reaffirmed that it is one of the key pillars of the cultural and technical identity of the municipality of Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnica and the wider region.

Despite the distinctly April weather scene - when the clouds alternated with the sun, and from time to time tiny drops of rain fell - the participants did not let themselves be confused. Their devotion to tradition, technical heritage and companionship was stronger than the whims of the sky.

Gathering in front of TEM – technical-ethnological museum.

The participants first gathered in front of social spaces in Bolehnečice, more precisely in front of the museum TEM – Technical Ethnological Museum, where they had refreshments in the morning and exchanged first impressions about the upcoming 2026 season. After the opening address of the president of the association Alexander Vuk the column of vintage vehicles came to life and set off.

Stop in Gornja Radgona - private collection of Igor Petek.

The first stop was Gornja Radgona, where their member was waiting for them Igor Petek. This year, the event also marked the unofficial but already traditional start of the new season for collectors and restorers of bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, cars and other classic mechanics.

Photo: Aleksander Vuk

The fair opened its doors at 8 a.m. and visitors were able to wander among the stalls, where everything from vintage vehicle spare parts to tools, restoration supplies, literature and catalogs from decades past could be found. There was particular interest in old mopeds, scooters and bicycles, which the sellers offered in various conditions – from perfect examples to restoration projects. There was no shortage of items with a distinct nostalgic value, such as posters, badges and other collector's items.

Photo: Aleksander Vuk

The organizers emphasized that the fair is more than just a sales and exchange event.
